What can I teach you?
Lessons are generally tailored towards beginners and intermediate level drummers and can cover the following subjects:
- Musical Styles
- Rock, Pop, Blues, Shuffles, Funk, Latin, Jazz
- Time keeping
- Understanding a drummers role within a band, working with click tacks and metronomes.
- Reading
- Reading / Writing of drum notation, understanding of note values and subdivision.
Understanding and playing time signatures. - Technique
- Limb independence and co-ordination, bass drum pedaling technique (Foot / leg ergonomy) and Moeller Motion.
- Rudiments
- To include Paradiddles, double strokes (controlled & rebound), rolls, linear phrasing, flams, accenting of notes, ruffs, drags etc......
In addition to the above, I am also able to teach drum grades and can use either Rockschool or Trinity Music grading systems.
Lessons are normally conducted using pre-written lesson plans,complied with professional music notation software.
